PLEASE NOTE: CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS VIRGINIA AND DC ARE NOW PART OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY WATERSHED CONTEST.
CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS: Chesapeake Bay is open to grade 6-10 classrooms who attend school in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
Classrooms are asked to submit proposals that answer the question:
“What can you do to improve your watershed?”
- Classrooms will compete for $6,000
- Participating schools and clubs are eligible for $10,000
- Implementation funding is available for $10,000. All classes are encouraged to implement their ideas
2019 Finalists Announced
The final presentations were held at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on April 23, 2019. Thank you to all of the students who participated in this contest.
After careful consideration, the $1,000 first place prize was awarded to Lanier Middle School for their proposal called, “Revitalizing Our Bioretention Cell”
